Benefits of Rural living

| |

Have you ever wondered about the benefits of rural living? This life attracts people. As a result, they throw caution to the wind and dive into a lifestyle so foreign to them. Others are born into it and know nothing else. Still, others enjoy living vicariously watching from afar.

We have lived in a rural setting of some sort for over 30 years now. All six of my children were raised on the farm. They watched me learn to give up my city ways and become a full fledged farmer.

Learn New Skills

My children watched me learn to milk cows, make cheese, artificially inseminate cows, butcher livestock, preserve food from the garden, learn to make soap and more. Most of these skills I taught myself. If you could sit down and talk with my children, they would share many lively stories. They could tell you about my trials and errors which ultimately gave way to mastering a new skill. My children are beneficiaries of my quest to become a farmer. What was so foreign to me is now natural to them.

Simply Living a Full Life

Impacts communities

The benefits of rural living do not just impact those who dwell on the farm. But the benefits extend into the community. Rural living provides an opportunity to serve others through providing farm experiences and selling farm fresh products.
