Behind the scenes at Bright Hope Soap Works, you will find artisans at work. Artisans are doers, builders, thinkers, and creatives. And, like many craftsmen we have a motivating purpose behind our work.
Our Motivating Purpose?
Bright Hope Soap Works was founded out of the ashes and rubble of hardship. Some might call us overcomers. We prefer the term “conquerors”. In fact, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
Bright Hope Soap Works is more than just another soap company. We make soap to share hope. Yes, we even make soap with message of hope tucked inside them (literally–written inserts included).
But, we want to do more. In a world full of negativity and discouragement, we all need a healthy dose of inspiration. We want to take hope to an all new level. As a result, our goal is to host a blog series spotlighting inspirational stories. Each story chronicles a triumph-over-trials journey.
Mainstream Culture and Suffering
Mainstream culture eschews suffering. When it strikes, it is devastating. The tragedy impacts life with a crippling blow. When avoidance fails to produce results, denial, anger, bitterness and medicating becomes the go-to response. The final result is depression, addiction, and other forms of hopelessness and despair.
But, maybe you have heard stories told with a different outcome. These are people who suffered yet were raised out of the ashes and rubble of heartache. They live life with a renewed purpose and joy.
Looking for Conquerors
We went on a mission to find victors and share their stories. Guess what? We found ourselves surrounded by conquerors! This is not just a random occurrence that happens to the elite in faith. Broken, humble, ordinary people regularly call on God to rescue them. He answers, delivers, redeems, and restores. He rebuilds lives better than ever!
Participating in this project has been life changing for us. It is our desire to share that encouragement with you too.
Common motifs unfolded in one interview after another. Bringing these stories to the forefront provides an opportunity for us see God on the move. It is a beautiful testimony of hope.
Common Themes of Conquerors
Many of those interviewed respond to heartache in a similar fashion. While the timing of their response may vary, ultimately we saw the following themes:
- They lean into their suffering. Some people started out running from it. They even avoided it. Ultimately, they embraced it.
- They draw close to God in a worshipful state regarding their anguish.
- The trial deepens their character in identifiable ways.
- Reflecting on hardship, they affirm it enriched their life rather than destroyed it.
- They overcame trials through empowerment by the Holy Spirit, rather than the strength of the human spirit.
- Finally, their lives testify what it means to count it all joy when facing trials.
Hardship is a part of this life. You may be on the verge of a trial, just coming out of one or right in the middle of it. We offer these stories sure to encourage you in your own journey to be more than a conqueror.
